Unconventional And Textured Finds...
Natural Treasures Collected While Out And About

When I prune my trees and shrubs, I'm always on the lookout for interesting bits of material that can be pressed. To remove bark for pressing, a razor knife, small pocket knife or a potato peeler usually works best for me. As you collect, remember that a plant needs it's bark to remain alive, so please harvest responsibly.

I've tried pressing some already dried materials with mixed results. Some freeze-drieds show promise. Springerii, and Tree Fern in particular come out very nice prepared this way.

I've put some of the small dried baby's breath that you can buy in a zip lock bag over night with a moist baby wipe to make it pliable, and then pressed it with nice results.

There must be more to life than having everything.
