A little bit about Preserved Gardens and me, Anne
Hi, I’m Anne Post. I live, garden and collect flowers in South Eastern Michigan, where I was born and have lived my whole life.
I’m truly blessed; I have a great husband who is also my best friend and soul mate. I am “Mom” to two sons, a daughter, a stepson and stepdaughter, all adults now. I’m “Grandma” to three young grandsons. I’m the “sister” of three brothers and three sisters, and the daughter of the best mom in the world! I also have a group of four Siberian Husky’s who love me dearly and a full, lush garden surrounding my home.
I love gardening, flower pressing, drying and preservation, stained glass, paper making, soap making, working on my website, going to parks with my grandsons and reading.
I’ve loved flowers since I was a very little girl, learning first from my Grandma, and

then from my mom and Grandpa.
I’ve worked with different techniques of preserving flowers over the years, including air drying, silica, microwave, glycerin, freeze drying and pressing. I started Preserved Gardens in late 1991 with freeze-drying. I always have more ideas than time and never stop experimenting.
For years, I’ve kept websites as a hobby. In response to many requests, I will begin offering some of my products for sale online. Offering high quality items will be phased in gradually so that you may purchase what you like here, online.
The emphasis of this site will continue to be on providing information in the area of pressed floral arts.
Items offered on the other site will include:
- Presses and pressing supplies
- Pressed and dried flowers, foliage and materials
- Natural soaps homemade with botanicals from my gardens
- A gallery of my work, with items for sale; special orders may be accepted, wholesale terms will be available.
- An important goal that is working out well is the creation of a Pressed Flower Artist’s Shop to show work by other pressed flower artists who are willing to sell their work. If you’re a pressed flower artist and want to be included please feel free to contact me. I’ll make a page for you with your contact information. You don’t need a website, and there’s no charge.
We recycle – You may receive a shipment from us in a reused cardboard box, packed with recycled bubble wrap and recycled packing peanuts. Friends and family are happy to have us recycle these for them, we don’t have to buy it and it keeps costs down for us and for you.
We support small business – When possible, we buy our supplies from other small businesses.
Who would have thought it possible that a tiny little flower could preoccupy a person so completely that there simply wasn’t room for any other thought. – Sophie Scholl
I confess, I don’t update this site as much as I’d like to. I spend a lot of time working on the Open Directory Project and love every minute of it. If you have some free time come see what we do; if you like it please consider volunteering.
